New exhibitions to discover

Exhibition tour with curator Laurier Lacroix

From 11 a.m. to noon.
Curator Laurier Lacroix will explore the main themes behind the exhibition The Studio as Art. Histories of Artists’ Studios in Quebec, and discuss a few of the more than 60 works on view that uncover the space where imagination, intuition and thought become form.
In French. Seats are limited, please RSVP. Admission is free.

Presence of the artists and curators

From 1 to 5 p.m.
Artists Irene F. Whittome and Moe Piuze, along with curators Laurier Lacroix and Irene Campolmi, will be present in the galleries to meet with the public.

Welcoming address in the Main Hall

Starting at 2 p.m.
Executive Director and Chief Curator Jean-François Bélisle, along with the curators and exhibiting artists, will introduce our new temporary exhibitions.
LSQ-French sign language interpretation will be provided.

Drop-in creative workshops in the Station à roulette

From 1 to 4 p.m.
In the Aire éducative Famille René Préville

Families are invited to create their own projects with the materials provided. Staff will be on hand to welcome you. The theme: artists’ studios

Lunch and bar service

A lunch to order
Reserve a lunch from the Joliette restaurant Ras le bol and pick it up when you arrive at the Museum, upon presentation of your ticket. You will have the choice of enjoying it at the following locations

  • In the Hall Famille Martin on the first floor
  • In the Salle Power Corporation of Canada on the first floor
  • in the Espace créatif Desjardins on the second floor

Departure from Montreal: 11 a.m. from the Gare d’autocars de Montréal, (Métro Berri-UQAM, 1717 rue Berri) – DOCK #12

Departure from Joliette: 4:30 p.m. at the Musée d’art de Joliette (arrival in Montreal planned for 5:30 p.m.).

Reservations mandatory.

15$ (including a beer, cocktail or soft drink **wine not included** at the event)

You can also reserve a lunch from the Joliette restaurant Ras le bol (in the next steps of this reservation) and pick it up when you arrive at the Museum.
