About —

The MAJ is fortunate to own a dozen works by Jean McEwen (1923-1999), widely considered one of Canada’s most important abstract painters. Perceptions takes a fresh look at the great Montreal artist by focusing on select works from the collection. Spanning the 1950s through the end of the 1980s, the small exhibition covers four decades of intense creativity. Throughout his career, McEwen committed colourful representations of his perceptions to canvas in the form of inspiring emotional landscapes.
