L’art de perruquer / Parallel Play

L’art de perruquer / Parallel Play brings together the Musée d’art de Joliette and the Stewart Hall Art Gallery around a shared question: how can we reactivate places of memory, transmission, and exhibition as living, inhabited, and collective spaces?  Inspired by the concept of “perruquer,” as defined by Michel de Certeau, the exhibition highlights practices that subvert, invest, and discreetly transform institutional frameworks. The artists explore the interstices of the museum and the gallery, highlighting their fragments and margins and suggesting actions—sometimes furtive, sometimes participatory—that bring art closer to the everyday. Far from being static, the exhibition spaces now become sites to collectively inhabit, activate, and reinvent.
