Joliette Art Museum

Been coming to the Musee d'art de Joliette for years and it never gets old, but last Saturday afternoon the light coming through the main gallery windows made the permanent collection look absolutely stunning. The staff member near the contemporary wing took a few minutes to chat with me about one of the newer acquisitions, which honestly made the whole visit feel way more personal than you'd expect from a regional museum. Parking on the street nearby was easy for a Saturday, which is always a pleasant surprise. If you live around Joliette and haven't made this a regular stop, you're really missing out on one of the best cultural spots in the region.

If you like architecture, you will enjoy visiting the building. It is restored to a very modern building with an amazing view over the river.
The art collection is limited but considering the size of the city, it’s a delightful place to visit.
Employees are very helpful and kind to give you interesting information regarding artists. I enjoyed it :)

This is a unique place, a three floors building, not that big but it big enough to cover paintings, sculptures, works of art, sound art, performance art, etc.

I can feel that the creators have done a lot of efforts by details, which made this museum different.

Ticket $15, parking $1 / hour for priceless creation and art, why not.

Nice little cultural pause right in town with creative special exhibits. A bit pricey if you don’t have a reciprocal membership though

Pleasantly surprised at the amount of art beautifully displayed. We made it a little pit stop on our road trip and it did not disappoint!
