** MAJ offers free admission to members of local and international Indigenous communities. A valid form of identification may be required.

Residents of Saint-Paul may borrow access cards available at the bibliothèque Fernande-Richard to receive free admission to the Museum. Upon presentation of proof of residence, they may also obtain a refund for the cost of certain activities at the reception desk.

For UQTR students, admission to exhibitions is free upon presentation of a valid student ID. Students also benefit from member rates for activities.

Accessibility

The Museum offers free parking reserved for persons with reduced mobility, accessible via rue Chanoine-Tisdell, as well as an access ramp to facilitate entry into the building (see parking map).

An elevator is available to allow movement between floors.

Exhibition and activity spaces, as well as public service areas, are wheelchair accessible, with the exception of the second-floor terrace.

A wheelchair may be borrowed free of charge at the Museum’s reception desk.

Museum services can be adapted for visitors with visual impairments, intellectual disabilities, attention deficit disorders, or learning difficulties. Our guides have the training and experience required to provide adapted services.

Caregivers accompanying individuals requiring assistance are admitted free of charge.

The Museum welcomes service animals upon presentation of valid certification or a physician’s note.

MAJ offers a large paid parking lot at a rate of $1 per hour.

All parking revenues are reinvested in the Museum’s programming and educational activities.

Parking for persons with reduced mobility is accessible via rue Chanoine-Tisdell, which runs along one side of the Museum.

The Museum’s cloakroom is located behind the reception desk. This service is free of charge, but voluntary contributions are welcome.

All visitors are asked to leave backpacks and water bottles in the cloakroom to help prevent incidents in the exhibition galleries.

The Museum is not responsible for lost items. Please inform the reception desk if you misplace personal belongings, and we will contact you should the item be found.

Unless otherwise indicated, touching the artworks is prohibited. Any exceptions will be communicated to you upon arrival.

Food and beverages are not permitted inside the exhibition galleries.

To ensure a quiet and enjoyable experience for all visitors, phone calls and the use of audio devices audible to others are not permitted in the exhibition galleries.

For the safety of the artworks, families are asked to supervise young children at all times.

Drawing in the galleries is permitted using graphite pencils only. The use of ink, watercolour, or any other medium is not allowed. Easels are also prohibited.

The MAJ offers families the opportunity to create together in the Aire éducative famille René Préville. The rolling station is packed with art materials!

A variety of visit options are available for groups, including school groups, private groups, and associations.

Please note that some works on display at the Museum are not free for reproduction. Be sure to check the labels before taking a picture of any artwork.

If a small group wishes to hold a photo session at the Museum, either outside or during opening hours, all participants must pay the admission fee. Everyone must respect the no-photography rules in the exhibition galleries and avoid disturbing staff or other visitors.

If the photo session requires any equipment setup (lighting, etc.) that restricts visitor circulation, room rental fees will apply.

The Museum is equipped with a defibrillator for emergencies. It is located in the Hall Famille Martin, in front of the reception desk.

First aid kits are available on every floor.

In case of illness or injury, please notify a gallery attendant or the staff member at the reception desk.
